Hi there

Not sure on your numbers - but under our EES agreement the minimum number of full time staff for the program is 1,000. So even though we have only 500 staff we have to licence for 1,000. However this is still about 15% cheaper for us than licencing by number of desktops.

 

As such we need to licence RDS for 1,000 seats - as that is the requirement for EES. For RDS we normally see pricing at about US$6-8 per seat / per year.

Hi, I'm not sure the above post is correct. If you are talking about OVS-EES then there is a very low minimal number which i can't remember right now, might even be as low as 5. This is what we are licences for with 105 Full Time Equivalent. EES dropped our licensing fee to around the 7,500 from a wound 14,000. I have just bought 105 RDS licences for our FTE number.

Hi there, I stand corrected - it looks like there are two options to EES: (From the MS website)

 

You can obtain EES subscription licenses one of two ways, depending on the size of your organization. Customers with as few as five (5) full-time equivalent (FTE) employees or students can license through an

Authorized Education Reseller (AER) by signing the simplified Open Value Subscription Agreement for Education Solutions (OVS-ES), online e-agreement.

 Larger customers with a minimum of 1,000 FTE employees or students can also license through a Licensing Solution Provider (LSP) (formerly referred to as Large Account Reseller [LAR]) by signing the Campus and School Agreement

and the Enrollment for Education Solutions (CASA+EES).

 

We are under the CASA+EES - hence the 1,000 minimum I mentioned. Sorry for the confusion.

It is a very confusing topic! I can never say I'm 100% positive I have a complete handle on MS Licenses and I have been working with them for 10 years.
