After reading the latest newsletter which only had some minor teasing and marketing thrown in, I can't help but have tiny thoughts about "what features will actually be ready/implemented in time".

 

The main part that worries me is this:

 

Although of course we sitll have some surprises left up our sleeves for you leading up to the 16th December!

 

Obviously it can be argued that he's just teasing and/or joking around, but I'd expect more than some things to be added before release! we are very nearly in the final testing phase, which should be focused on making sure the networking is ready for release and that there are no fatal bugs - not for adding features.

 

What about the fleet/alliance system that they mentioned would be implemented?

 

From what I understand they also kinda promised a purely offline/solo mode in the kickstarter - which they've decided will be online-only instead which has annoyed a lot of people (causing some refund requests).

 

It just seems like they're cutting this very close, and if they haven't got the core features ready that people will want on release when it gets to Gamma on the 22nd then things won't look good.

 

I'm backing this game for the long haul regardless, but I am worried that it will negative reviews when press get their hands on the preview release if they haven't got much to offer in a week's time..

At the moment, the lag, random crashes, docking in and out problems, and NOT being paid my £%£%£$%£ bounty for killing pirates is....frustrating to say the least.

 

If this isn't sorted by early Dec, i'll be seriously contemplating a refund.

 

Had to sell my viper because it was useless after countless unpaid bounties. Back to the hauler

 

Stupid money being made from mining though lol
