If you need to attract the attention of a mod to remove a thread, or for any other reason, you can PM one of us... or BETTER STILL .... USE THE REPORT BUTTON.

The Report Button contacts all mods and means that you are more likely to get rapid attention.

Individuals can be on holiday / have Ofsted in / have a flat battery on their device making PM potentially slower.

Please do not just post in the thread (with or without a tag) concerned asking us to do something. There is no guarantee that any of us will see it.

Fair point and noted. Mind it wasn't my thread and it was just me trying to help a fellow EduGeek member protect his rear end - first time I've had to ask in ten years (or close to that) of being on here. Edited by elsiegee40

A quick bump for this thread. Tagging a mod doesn't get spam removed more quickly. Reporting a post means that an email is sent to all the mods and whoever is free will pick it up. We are all volunteers, so it varies as to who is around.

By the way, I also recommend not posting in a thread to say that you have reported it. This is for two reasons:

1. Multiple reports mean that we realise that perhaps none of the other mods is around and a post still needs our attention. People tend not report if somebody says they've already done it.

2. We have been known to make the occasional mistake and wipe out a person posting after the spammer as well as the spammer. Most of the mods have actually banned the reporting engine itself at least once! Although ZH told me recently that he is sure we can't do that any more ( a challenge if ever I heard one :D )
