SouthCoastSaint Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 We have had 8 spam reports from Schoolcomms today which is exceptionally high. All are Yahoo or AOL. Wondered if anyone else had also, or if it's possibly something in a subject of an email sent that has flagged the email as spam.
m25man Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Spam stats have indeed gone ballistic in the last 48 hrs, most seem to carry links to compromised files or external links which will in turn lead to malware infected sites. Bearing in mind the latest Microsoft Vulnerability disclosure it's probably just part of a race to get as many hosts infected before the patches can be deployed. https://technet.microsoft.com/library/security/ms14-066 It's far too close to patch Tuesday to be coincidence.
