Hi there,

we have just over 30 of these and they've worked every day since they were installed just over 2 years ago. However, today they have all gone into a disconnected state. We haven't changed the where the controller is or anything so this is mad.

Wifi still works but because all the APs are showing as disconnected we can't get any stats. They think they have 0 clients connected to them and we now can't even ping the buggers.

I have managed to get one up and running by firstly resetting it using the button on the AP. Even then the AP doesn't appear connected. I then just pull the ethernet cable from it, leave it for 20 seconds and then plug it in. After that the AP appears connected with all it's settings in tact.

I don't fancy having to do this with the remainder of the APs but if I have to then so be it.

Anyone got any other ideas on how to resolve this?

Thanks

Not sure whats your problem but i had an issue were one of the injectors was unpluged, then when plugged back in it still showed as off but just told the software to forget the device and then pulled it back in to the same place and put its name back in and all was fine. Sounds like a software problem.

Did you shut the software down and restart it ( i know standard IT question )

Its a bit of work if you need to forget the lot and re set their names again.

Had this on 3 or 4 of the 8 connected AP's in a school we installed in. All the same side of the school and I put it down to some weird power spike / surge but that was a bit of guess work

All had green light showing physically but weren't showing as connected in the controller and clients couldn't connect.

My solution was to pull the Ethernet plug and reboot them that way.

Is your servers time correct? Clutching at straws possibly...

Server time is bang on. I also rebooted it earlier but nothing has changed.

I think I'll have a leisurely day tomorrow going round the APs and resetting them etc. :(

Got a config backup you could look at restoring before getting the step ladder out?

Good suggestion but I have tried that already.

It'll be nice to have a walk around the places I rarely get to anyway.
