TechSupp Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Just heard we are to be supplied with about 20 Kindle PaperWhite from Amazon, can someone please tell me that I can set a proxy on the wifi connection! Have looked around on here and found I can set it on the Fire and Fire HD but don't know about the PaperWhite as its just an eReader not a tablet as such. Going to be interesting if I cant set it. Looked at this a long time ago and there was no way then but don't know if things have changed.
fairm010 Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 I believe you cannot on the PaperWhite. We have 5 here in the library but due to not being able to install our HTTPS cert we cant access the Amazon book store (whatever they call it). They are taken home by the librarian to install books.
TechSupp Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 Hmmmm...well that beggars things up a bit then!
vikpaw Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) I guess they are not 3G versions You could set up a router that's proxy enabled temporarily for that purpose. I've been looking into the dd-wrt software to do this recently. Edited November 12, 2014 by vikpaw
TechSupp Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) forget, what I just posted in my reply, realised it didnt make sense! Edited November 12, 2014 by TechSupp
