Ruckus - upgrading licenses

Evening all,

 

I have 2 ZD1100 units at the moment running 12 units each, I got these when the recent offers were on but had an issue recently when one wouldn't reboot after an upgrade and took all the APs down.

 

I would like to put 24 licenses on one and use the other as a redundancy unit but the recent quote I got was ridiculous, has anyone gone down this route? I have 4 years left on the support for 1 of them and pay annually on the other so don't really want to spend thousands upgrading.

Well the licenses are not transferable in that way.

 

Both would need to be upgraded to 25 AP licenses as they need to match for redundancy.

 

The way it is done now is the first ZD will be upgraded and have support on it then the second ZD will have redundancy support package enabling it to have a license upgrade for free to match the main ZD - if that makes sense.

 

However not sure if that is possible to do on ZD's already bought.

 

What price did you get given?

I might have to look at this, one of the ZD failed on reboot and now half my network is down.
