public folders to office 365

we have about 5 public folders (calendars) on our exchange 2010 server that I want to move to 365. there's a crazy complicated MS method involving ps1, csv etc but can't I just do something simple in outlook or copy and paste, they are probably in total 10MB.

 

they are also ''published as a webpage" from OWA and the link then sent to iPad owners who subscribe to the calendar, how is this supported in 365? maybe there's a better method for read only calendar viewing on iPads?

we have mail enabled public folders used for "Daily Bulletins" etc. they need to be updated on prem and in ex online....?

Hello burgemaster, we didn't do any actual migration to 365 in the end. I created the top level root folder in 365 then after a lot of testing found the following:

You can't create public folders (in the root folder) of type calendar in 365, so you do this in outlook.

You can't set permissions in outlook so you do this in 365

 

I backed up the existing public folder contents to a pst before migration to 365

Then opened the pst in my personal email account in outlook after migration and simply copied/pasted to the new empty public folders.

 

Does that make sense?

Note, you can of course set permissions in outlook but they don't get reflected in 365, do the permissions in the exchange admin part of 365 web interface.
