Set login screen background?

I'm sure I used to do this but it must have got lost somewhere.

 

How do I change the login screen background on all PC's?

 

I don't mind manually copying a jpeg to the clients if it helps performance.

 

I'm talking about this one

You can copy the image using group policy preferences. Don't forget to set Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\System\Logon\Always use custom logon background to enabled in a GPO

IIRC - you need to create a folder and a reg entry before copying your file

I found it easer to create a custom MSI rather than rely on Group Policy

don't forget to add it to your new images before sysprepping!

computer config > Policies > Administrative templates > System > Logon > Always use custom logon background

 

 

Computer config > Preferences > Windows Settings > Files

 

Replace:

 

Source files: \\server\share\[image folder]\*

 

Destination folder: %systemroot%\System32\oobe\info\backgrounds

Its actually a lot easier than I thought!

 

I ended up finding a nice piece of software to test alignments screen ratios of the backgrounds.
