cragos1984 Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Hi Just wanting some advice really or for someone to tell me im missing something really obvious. I have very little in terms of experience with this but I need to add a range of IPs to our firewall, I have recieved the ASDM software but it is in the form of a .bin file. I have tried to mount this using different pieces of software and none seem to work. Has anyone installed this from the BIN file at all and if so what am I doing wrong? this has kind of been dropped on me as the guy who did this kind of stuff has recently left Thanks
jtotheb Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 The bin file sits on the ASA box. Assuming a version has been installed previously, you should point your browser at the management interface of the ASA box and you'll get a webpage up asking if you want to run it as a Java app or install ASDM as a local application. 1
cragos1984 Posted November 5, 2014 Author Posted November 5, 2014 Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Ive got a better idea of how it works now, having trouble connecting to the ASA through the browser but that's a seperate problem at the minute. Thanks again
