GRitchie Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 I don't personally deal with the SIMS system, I'm helping a colleague however we're setting the grades with a number on the marksheet so that it will create an average (as you can't add up letters) however if it comes out as the answer being 14.8 it will always round down for example? Any ideas? Any more detail required, let me know, I'll do my best
MattMitchell Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 When you do any kind of average grade calculation, you need to add half the grade width onto the value before converting back. So 3 points for GCSEs, 15 for A2, 3 for a ks2/ks3 level, and one point for a sub level scale

Do you mean we need to add a .5? If so, we already have done this under formula details and this seemed to make it worse (still not calculating correctly)
MattMitchell Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 If you're converting a decimal to an integer, adding 0.5 should then work. Sims truncates values rather than rounding them (last time I checked) It'll only give you two decimal places of precision though
