PXE boot

I can connect to the internet via ethernet cable but cannot PXE boot. Using SCCM to load images. No connection or activity lights show, ever. Don't know if this is hardware or software issue or both. Please help.

Have you double checked to make sure PXE booting is enabled in the BIOS?

Yes, all BIOS settings are good for PXE boot.

lets look at method of elimination :-

 

try a different pc to PXE boot with?

 

does the port on the switch require 802.1x ?

 

is it in the correct VLAN?

 

is the NIC enabled with PXE in bios?

Are you pressing the correct button at boot, to boot from nic?

Can you get to a boot menu to enable you to select the nic?

Is SCCM advertising a boot image to this machine? Have you tested on another machine of the same make/model and different make/model? If the machine is in the right collection in SCCM and that collection is advertising a valid boot image, have you double checked that machines MAC address registered in SCCM? Also what GUID is PXE boot reporting from BIOS? Is it unique?
