Morning All,

We have had teachers moaning that they have been used for cover too many time already this term. Does anybody know of a way to report on how many times a teacher has been used for cover through the SIMS Diary?

When you assign cover, you get the available staff panel. if you expand it to the left you get columns for day cover, week cover, covers to date, covers to academic year.

It's not an ideal view, you can also just scroll to the right.

At the top right there is a button to unpin, which is great if you have two screens. This should help monitor how many times someone has been used.

When they have been used once in the day, they should change, go italic or something so you know not to use them again. I think you can change this in the settings.

You can also get reports from Tools | Cover | Statistics.

Between all that you should find something to help balance the load. Also if you configure the settings correctly, it should weight people based on rules, e.g. they do the subject requiring cover, or have a light timetable, so again, this should make it fair.

Vik's suggestion of Tools | Cover | Statistics is best for long term historical figures. If you want there and then, right click the staff list and select Week Covers or Academic Year Covers and everyone gets grouped by cover totals in hours. :)

Thank you both for your help on this! I never knew that the tools | Cover | Statistics was there! In finding that area it allowed me to answer another question my cover manager had, as he is new to the role, in how to find out how many times a student has had a cover teacher!
