bwestlake Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Hi all, I have a SME web server running and i want to run a second as a load balancing / failover server. I am aware in the contribe PHPmyadmin you can run in replication (this will just do the SQL database), how can i run the two servers so they always have the same data? I will use a proxy / NAT to forward the traffic to both servers (load balancing) Anyone have any ideas / information on how? Thanks in advance!
powdarrmonkey Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 It depends how you define 'data', which is presumably more then just the database.
bwestlake Posted October 9, 2014 Author Posted October 9, 2014 the data I'm talking about is the ibays
pybe Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Wow didnt know SME server was still a thing I ran it at home years ago when it was owned by mitel. What do you want to replcate just the websites running on it or the full box?
bwestlake Posted November 14, 2014 Author Posted November 14, 2014 bit of both, thinking of having a second server either at my house or another - so to start with just the websites?
pybe Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 So are you using all the features currently email, ldap, samba, sql, apache, etc etc Do you use sql for the websites you would like to replicate or just flat html/php
