ORC Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Hi, I've not had the pleasure of working much with Solus 3 yet, but need to move our current server from one domain to another. (We've moved away from CC4). The server is a simple member 2008 R2 server and the name and IP address will stay the same. Are there any special steps needed for this migration? Thanks
howartp Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Fire up SQL Management Studio and make sure you've got an administrative user account with sufficient privileges that isn't part of your CC4 domain, so when you disjoin and rejoin to the new, you still have access. Did exactly same as you this summer, but from upgraded CC2>3>4>4.3 domain to fresh CC4.5 Matrix. Peter
Ghostgame Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 If your moving SOLUS3 to another domain and the domain has a different name, uninstall the SOLUS3 agent from all workstations. There is a SOLUS3 config file in the agent that will keep the old domain name and stop all your agents from connecting to the server again when its moved. File is: Sims.Solus3.Agent.AgentService.exe.config Found: C:\Program Files\Solus3\AgentService If you don't feel like doing that, go round each workstation, amend the file and restart the SOLUS3 Agent service. If you have SOLUS3 agent v6.9 on the workstation, you might have the option to amend the server.domain in the SOLUS3 agent notifier on the workstations. Found in Start --> All Programs --> Solus3 Above all, DO NOT amend one Sims.Solus3.Agent.AgentService.exe.config file and then copy it to the rest of the workstations. This will cause you a whole wealth of additional issues due to each workstation having a unique agentID code in their Sims.Solus3.Agent.AgentService.exe.config file.
