Apple VPP/ Apple ID?

Quick query re the process of signing up to the Apple VPP?

 

I already have an Apple ID... However I'm uncertain as to whether I need to create a new Apple ID when initially signing up to the VPP.

Definitely need a new ID. I seem to recall that you actually need 2, one for the admin and be for the user.

IIRC it's handy to have a 3rd for downloading Apps via iTunes for configurator.

Ah that makes sense, I already have this... So I download the pay apps using iTunes, then redeem using Configurator?

Yep Purchase via VPP, Import codes in to Configurator. Download the App once using one of the codes. Add this App to Configurator and then claim the code back and reuse. Nice and simple Ha!

One last query... I take I need to select Redeemable Codes?

 

Redeemable Codes: Download a spreadsheet containing redeemable codes which you can then provide to your users. Ownership of the app or book is given to the Apple ID that redeems the code. Codes will only be redeemable in the UK store.

It depends on how the iPads are used. If they are for a class set controlled through configurator then you need redeemable codes. If they are personal devices managed distribution through an MDM is better as you retain ownership of the licence
