VirtualBox instant errors

I've just installed VirtualBox 4.3.16 on windows 8 and can't load any VMs.

 

As soon as I try to load one, it just get an error.

 

 

 

This is a new 32-bit Windows 7 VM.

 

 

Any ideas as to what is going on?

I had this randomly in the past. Try disabling the network adapter in VirtualBox and start it up. Then shut down, re-enable the network and start up again.

Might also experience that with some AV/security packages - might be worth checking that by disabling them, then adding exceptions if required.

I've tried that, I get the exact same error.

...I can't.

 

It's a cloud managed AV that I don't have access to.

Yeah, just grabbed 4.12 and it's fine.

 

Currently watching the VM try [and fail] to PxE boot.

Have you got the extension pack installed? https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

 

The extension pack enables PXE plus a few other features that I cannot remember.
