Quick Exchange Question

Hi

 

I would like to setup an email address [email protected]

 

I've added it to accepted domains. I've created the account in AD. When I send to it externally it says error 550, user unknown in virtual mailbox table.

 

Its not on our normal domain but I've added it to accept domains.

 

Exchange newbie so forgive the basic question

You need to add the domain in recipient policies or add the UPN to AD so that you can assign that domain to the end of an email and have it accepted

Have you created the MX and A records for the new domain - either with your provider, or locally if you manage your own DNS?
