Trouble with Terminal Server GPO - Saving / Creating Documents

Hi all,

 

Good day to everyone. I'm a long time lurker and have found a ton of helpful answers to items I have troubleshot here. Seems like a fantastic forum and thought now would be a good time to sign up since I have an issue I can't seem to find a good answer to.

 

My issue is this - I'm running Server 2008 R2 and have users who need to save items locally (i.e. C:\Users\%username%) on their desktop and to "My Documents". I have taken a previous GPO I created to lock down terminal services and copied it. I have then taken the copied GPO and applied it to the servers and users it should apply to. I have gone through the settings to ease up on some of the locked down settings to allow these functions (saving to the desktop and "My Documents").

 

For the most part it works, however, as soon as I create a new document, directory, etc within "My Documents" and refresh "My Documents" it disappears. I can still see that doc or directory from behind the scenes (logged in as an Administrator and viewing that particular user's "My Documents"). Also, if I try to create another doc with the same name it tells me it already exists, yet it is still not visible.

 

Any help or ideas are super appreciated.

If anyone has a thread or KB they could share for a walk-through of GPO settings for locking down Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services) in Server 2008 R2, that'd be really helpful.
