A great opportunity for a highly customer focused mobile 2nd/3rd line IT Support Consultant to provide managed service support to London secondary schools with one of the ‘UK’s Top IT Employers’*.

RM Education is the leading provider of ICT software & services to the Education sector and employs over 2000 staff. Working within RM's London ICT Managed Service team (BSF - ‘Building Schools for the Future’ and other IT managed services schools), the Senior IT Support Consultant will tackle escalated technical issues around MS Server 2008,2012, VMWare, Windows 7/8, AD, DHCP, Exchange, Apple, Citrix, SANs etc. as well as engaging in root cause analysis and preventative work.

As well as solving more complex technical problems across various school sites, just as critically, the IT Support Consultant will help mentor on-site engineers, communicate regularly with the school leadership, operate in an advisory capacity as the technical authority, attend service reviews, implement change, provide technical solutions to the customer’s requirements and proactively ensure that service delivery targets / SLAs are achieved.

This is a broad IT support role in a very rewarding environment that also requires the building of strong customer relationships. The Individual

 

 

  • Extensive IT support experience at a 2nd /3rd line level including MS Server 2008/2012, VMWare, Windows 7, 8, AD, DHCP, Exchange, Citrix etc, ideally within a customer-oriented IT environment
  • Strong problem solving abilities and excellent communication, customer handling, influencing and inter-personal skills
  • Strong planning, organising and prioritising abilities. Target focused. Flexible to cope with change, be proactive and adapt quickly to a developing type of service delivery
  • Prior school ICT support experience may be useful, but isn’t essential
  • Driving licence is essential. Flexible to travel across London/Greater London sites as required
