Computer Monitor for Data Analysis

Hoping that some of you are able to help me here. I am looking for a computer monitor for data analysis, SIMS assessment work, excel worksheets etc

 

I am hoping to purchase a screen that is 28 inch or larger.

Have you considered two, smaller monitors rather than one huge one? I find it incredibly useful to be able to have summary analysis on one screen, then pull up detail on another. It's doable on one screen (WinKey + [left/RIGHT]) but not as easy.

+1 for multiple monitors. I struggle to work now without two or more monitors.

thanks for your replies, the user isn't too keen on the idea of two monitors, so was looking for a standalone large monitor really.

We recently bought some Acer G276HLABID 27" Monitors for people who do timetabling. They seem to be good value for money - the screens seem decent enough quality, and are about as large as is practical for a desktop monitor, anything larger and you'd have to start turning your head from left to right just to read accross the screen:

They are thin and light - we have them VESA mounted to the front of some of VeryPC's Flex PC cases, where they work very nicly as an all-in-one style machine.

1080p widescreen monitors are so cheap now, I would go with either 2 x 24" monitors or if you can afford it, 2 x 27" monitors for this. Being able to have one set of data on one screen and one on the other is invaluable.
