jmak Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 AdwCleaner to remove. Unchecky to help prevent PUPs being installed in the future. Do you install unchecky on domain clients?
Arthur Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Do you install unchecky on domain clients? I don't because our users aren't allowed to install any software themselves. Unchecky is good for home PCs though. 1
ZeroHour Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I hate to say it but I wouldnt recommend Windows Defender any more, I have seen scary things with infections getting past it and MS themselves have admitted its not very good any more. It was okay back in the day but it really misses a lot nowadays.
difinity Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 As this thread is veering off a little lets try to point it back in the right direction, if not slightly hijacked (Apologies in advance) With regards to these PUP's any other suggestions on how to rid a machine of them. I've a run both malwarebytes and ccleaner - shows as clean but still popups and hijacks galore. Scratching my head atm. I see a lot caused my dodgy browser addons or extensions. Chrome is particularly bad.
STbob Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Cpj has some useful advise here. Those are all decent programs to keep your system clean. His suggestions are a better alternative to the topic which is about windows defender.
