Science Technician – Full time 37 hours – All Year Round

GRADE G6 SCP 22-25 (£19817 - £21734)

 

We are looking for a Science Technician to join an innovative and forward-thinking Academy in order to support achievement and progress in Science who can fulfil the duties below or is willing to undertake training to be able to do so, and who:-

 

• Has a minimum of 4 GCSE’s including English and Maths and Level 3 in a Science based qualification or equivalent. Degree qualification desirable.

• Has good team working skills and can support and provide specialist advice regarding Science in a learning environment.

• Can work within the Rural Science Faculty assisting teaching and learning and support students when working alongside a range of farm animals.

• Has the ability to monitor and manage the budget, resources and data within the Science Faculty

• Can implement agreed work programmes/practical lessons under the guidance of a teacher and demonstrate and assist in the safe and effective use of specialist equipment.

• Can prepare, maintain and use specialist equipment, including uniforms, check for quality/safety and undertake repairs/modifications or arrange for these to be carried out.

• Will lead and participate in all Academy electrical testing

• Can promote Health and Safety within the Science Faculty and across the Academy
