Anybody else use Google Analytics on the School site?

Was just browsing the stats, and found it interesting how much the devices accessing our site have changed since Christmas.

 

So Christmas Time it was

 

Windows - 64.1%

iOS - 21.7%

Android - 9.96%

Mac OS - 2.56%

Windows Phone - 0.54%

 

Checked for now and its very different

 

Windows - 42.8%

iOS - 32.5%

Android - 13.3%

Mac OS - 9.96%

Windows Phone - 0.99%

 

Other ones too, but they make up really small numbers to make it 100%.

 

Windows has siginifitanly dropped in just 9 months which i found most interesting. Anybody else's stats showing anything interesting?

Gains in Safari & Android and losses in IE. If we include those hits from inside the college, then IE is the clear winner, as it automatically pops up when a user logs in, displaying the staff or student portal as appropriate. Ideally we shouldn't be forcing IE as parts of the portal don't work (notably PDFs) and parts of the college website get chopped off , owing to a non-dynamic layout. Whenever staff complain about this, I show them that it all works perfectly in anything that isn't IE. So why do we force IE? The MIS system only works in IE, so rather than fixing that, we potentially break every other website.
