timbo343 Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I have just upgraded my ruckus firmware to 9.8 and was wondering if anyone knows about the SPoT (Smart Positioning Technology) which is in this release. Is this something that needs to be paid for?
Haptic Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Yes it is timbo343 it is an extra - the SAM is the same also. Chris
howartp Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I have just upgraded my ruckus firmware to 9.8 and was wondering if anyone knows about the SPoT (Smart Positioning Technology) which is in this release. Is this something that needs to be paid for? Is that for accurate location of a student or misplaced staff iPad? Rather than "it is online and connected to AP 123"' does this triangulate on a map (based on signal strength?) to give more accurate positioning? Peter
timbo343 Posted September 10, 2014 Author Posted September 10, 2014 Yeah, its the triangulate stuff which needs to be paid for unfortunately, would be great of education could get it free though.
howartp Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Ooh, interesting. Makes note to investigate.
