MikeGilbert Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Briefly - what Python manual would anyone recommend? No 1 Son is on an apprenticeship, getting keen on the Sysadmin stuff, has expressed an interest and has a birthday coming up... TIA
jinnantonnixx Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 (edited) I enjoyed reading Head First Python. It's well organised, well written and not at all dry. I recommend it. It covers web back-end, Android and Google App Engine, too. Head First Labs from O'Reilly Media, Inc. :: Head First Python Edited August 18, 2014 by jinnantonnixx 1

And mildly annoyed that a new one is coming out in January...
MikeGilbert Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 Think Python Interesting looking, but will give him the link to that one, seeing it's a free ebook. Not the sort of birthday present I'd get many kudos for. - - - Updated - - - http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/9/98/MontyPythonsBigRedBookCover.jpg/220px-MontyPythonsBigRedBookCover.jpg Oh, how I laughed. :/
