9.5 to 10.2 upgrade

Can you please let me know the best way to upgrade from v9.5 to v10.2. Is a new install the best way forward?

Backup your hapconfig.xml file and web.config file.

 

download the v10 full release, install it over your install

download the v10.2 core update, install it over your install

download any plugin you currently use and install it (booking system/helpdesk/timetable)

 

Run hap+ it should upgrade the config file for you

Hi Nick,

 

That didn't work. It came up with an error. Have reverted back to the snapshot taken before the change and will reinstall from fresh tomorrow.

O, you will need to check the web.config file after and remove the bit if you are on 2012 (I think you can restore the web.config file but can't be sure)

 

Once you get it working you should just be able to restore your hapConfig.xml file and it will auto upgrade the settings

I did as nick said but removed the bit in web.config that says <-- remove for iis8 -->. Works no problem.
