Kyle Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 I have a suite of PC's that have had their floppy blanking plates stolen/damaged. When you look into the room it look a right eye sore., not to mention a possible H&S issue. Does any one kno were i can get a round 20 of these from?
FN-GM Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 You could go onto eBay look for a computer builder and ask him to save some when he builds the computers.
tech_guy Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Yes, eBay, or get your d&t tech/students to make some out of an old PC case - that's what we did.
contink Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 you got a picture of one of the old ones? I have a slew of blanking plates sitting around somewhere that might fit but there's no such thing as a standard plate.
Oops_my_bad Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 indeed - the length of the clips on these things seem to vary wildly. Get your D+T department to mould you some up
DSapseid Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 IVe had the kids break the 5 1/4" blanking plates and i got the D&T technician to make some metal blanking plates and we rivet them to the inside of the case.
mrcrazy04 Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Alternatively acrylic will do the job - if it's the right thickness the kids can't punch through it

We do that - we would like to then connect them to the mains as well but, oh well...... 8O
