Office 365 Question

Hello, we are looking at going to Office 365 soon. I have a few concerns about this movement up to the cloud.

 

Currently as Network Administrator can access any files on the network, I can't seem to find a way to do this on Office365 so the administrator account of the domain cannot see it's own users files which for education is wrong as you dont know what is saved on those areas etc.

 

So is there anyway the Office 365 Domain Administrator can access it's users files?

What service in Office 365 are we talking here? Exchange Online, Lync or Sharepoint?

With exchange online you can most definitely see everyone's inbox and achieve. You can set data retention policies to make sure the important things are not lost.

 

You can also access users one drive. I have done this for my colleague when he first signed up as his was created wrong and he didn't have permission to his own area!

 

For OneDrive access do the following;

 

Log in and open share point admin, go to user profiles, search for user, click the down arrow or right click, the manage site collection owners, then add yourself or the admin.

Then you can go to manage personal site and you can then view the documents.

 

With a bit of searching I could probably find the powershell code to add this permission to all users.
