Starting out with BYOD - Any tips.

Hi,

 

We're just about to upgrade our wireless coverage/network this summer with the intention of being able to support more student/staff devices. Just wondering how any of you guys approached BYOD? Policies, implementation, safeguarding. General tips?

 

Also, various departments are buying their own iPads for communal use. These iPads will therefore be the school's property but it will fall of us, the IT department to ensure that they're kept safe. Can anyone recommend any software for tracking, monitoring and potentially locating iPads/devices. I've heard of Lookout Device Management - https://www.lookout.com/mobile-security-for-business.

 

Any thoughts?

I think Meraki offers free MDM software that may be able to do that.
