Having some problems trying to convert an old HP DL320 into a VM

The server has an Integrated Ultra ATA-100 IDE Raid Controller ( LSI Logic Corp )

On checking the VMware site, this is no longer supported but it does not specifically state if it does not work.

The converter won't work, so instead I took a Acronis image, converted that into a VHD and then converted that into a VMDK.

Loading that up in VMware it starts to boot but then BSOD on me with what I can only think has to be the ATA Raid controller as when I took the image I selected only one of the mirrored disks.

So my question is this - anyone know how to force VMware or ESXi to get to this to fire up ?

Having read this somewhere before, I believe you have to change the boot controller in the BIOS on the server in order for the convertor to pick it up. Have a look for setting the P410 as first boot if available. This should allow the VMware cold clone to proceed past any previous error messages.
