Time limit to enter email address in Outlook WebApp

If you pause for an extended period* while entering an address in the To field of the Office 365 Outlook WebApp, it assumes you have finished typing and automatically adds a semicolon. This is causing a LOT of frustration for our Year 3 pupils who are just starting to use email. They get so far through, have to look at the address to copy it, try to find the letter on the keyboard... oops, too late. I'm sure this could also be an accessibility issue for people with physical disabilities, too. Any Microsoft bods on the forum care to comment?

 

*Extended period can sometime be as short as 15 seconds. The cursor stops flashing after 10, although it doesn't always add a semicolon straight away.
