andydis Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 can someone please help me before i jump out of the window :-) I have a site running exchange 2003 , they are due to upgrade pretty soon to 2013 so just need to get this working for a couple of months. the problem: I have created a "contact" in AD , this contact has an external address. I have set all email going to a certain user in AD to also deliver to the "contact". This works well if you send an email internally, the mail gets delievered to the onsite exchange inbox and the external address. However , anyone sending email from external to the AD account , it gets delievered to their onsite exchange but doesn't get forwarded to the contacts email A email is sent to the postmaster saying Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. Subject: test55555555 Sent: 16/06/2014 14:27 The following recipient(s) could not be reached: EXTERNAL CONTACT on 16/06/2014 14:28 You do not have permission to send to this recipient. For assistance, contact your system administrator.
Michael Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Try this: How to configure mail forwarding Note The forwarding address can be any mail-enabled object. Examples of mail-enabled objects include distribution groups, security groups, public folders, and other related items.1.Start the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in. 2.Right-click the mail-enabled user, and then click Properties. 3.Click the Exchange General tab. 4.Click Delivery Options. 5.In the Forwarding Address section, click Forward to, and then click Modify. 6.Click the mail-enabled user or the mail-enabled contact. Then, click OK. Note If you want e-mail to be delivered to the original mailbox as well as the forwarding address, select the Deliver messages to both forwarding address and mailbox check box. 7.To close Delivery Options and to close Properties, click OK two times.
