[windows software] Help with MS Licensing needed for a newbie.

I have lots of experience with building and using Microsoft kit but none regarding licensing. I have recently changed jobs and now as part of my project I have to sort out the licensing for a school.

Hope you guys will be able to help with a few questions. First a bit of info regarding the school. They are a new school with 21 employees and will have 240 student devices with about another 30 staff machines.

1. If I buy 21x "dsktpedu alng licsapk olv e 1y acdmc ent" will that be enough for windows and office for the whole school?

2. I am planning to setup a KMS server and push out images via WDS. How do I get the license for the KMS from the above purchase?

3. Are there any other gotchas or things to look out for when licensing within education.

 

I apologies if this is fairly simple to work out, I have googled myself inside out and still non the wiser.

1. Not sure what the part number is for the product, but your best bet would be to get the OVS-ES Core Desktop pack. Speak to your reseller or one of the sellers on here.

2. Once you've installed the KMS on to your server, you can download the license key from the Microsoft Volume Licensing Centre. Once you've signed up for the OVS-ES, Microsoft will send you an activation link.

3. Depends on what you are looking to license, but I've found that the OVS-ES licensing is the best way to go for Microsoft licensing in schools.
