It's time to play guess that policy(IE download restriction)

I recently put in a new internet file locker service to allow the kiddies to transfer files between home and school. (We don't let them use email and soon will be eliminating floppies, CDs and flash drives).

 

The problem is a policy I setup this summer does not seem to like allowing the kids to download the files to their school network drives.

 

They get a "This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." error. Unfortunately, I guess I'm the admin and I can't find the policy that's blocking it.

 

It does not give a choice to save it in an alternative location. They can open the file, but not if its in Office 2007. I thought it might be the default download location, but I reset that to a wide open area with no positive results.

 

Any ideas what the usual suspects might be in this situation?

 

The server is 2003 and all the clients are XP with IE7

One policy that comes to mind is:

 

User Config > Admin Templates > Win Components > Internet Explorer > Browser Menus

 

Policy "Disable Save this program to disk option"

Have you ran GPResults from the GPMC? this should tell you what policies are being applied, think theres another one in there too but can't thing of it just yet..
