So have finally been given some money to replace our 10 year old RM classboards. I need to put together our requirements. Do I go smartboards 880 with short throw or something like a 65" ctouch ?

Has anyone run into any issues with moving to a smaller screen from a 77" smart board?

We have an 880 smart board in our hall so the teachers are familiar, but have never seen an LCD alternative. A demo unit for a couple of weeks would be good I suppose?

Hi ICTRich,

There a growing number of LCD touch options available and the majority of the hardware is much of muchness.

The key thing will be to establish what the teachers demand in terms of Interactive board software;

Clevertouch, Iboard, Genee - do there own software - Iboard is particularly good

Benq and Smart - Are bundled with smart notebook

Phillips, Infocus and Hitachi - Generally don't come with software although you can licence with ;

Open Sankori - open source free software

RM easy teach - Compatible with Promeathean and Smart file formats

Smart Notebook - Smart software - Although licencing model has changed recently to a yearly subscription model

What Smartboard software are the teachers using/demanding ?

Currently a mixture between interwrite and smart notebook.

The majority are just using the screens as a projection only, as the pens have stopped working.
