Best place to buy Galaxy S5

Hi all, the title says it all. I'm planning to buy a GS5 I'd like it to be network free so it doesn't have lots of extra rubbish on.

 

Anyone bought one for a good price? If so where did you get it?

eBay is the cheapest place to buy the S5 if you don't mind getting the SM-G900H model (it doesn't have LTE).

Arthur: LTE = 4G? I Definitely want that.

 

Free780: I'm not that bothered about the Samsung apps as they've reduced the amount of them quite a bit compared to the GS3

If the Galaxy S5 Active is anything to go by there will still be lots of Samsung apps.

Which network were you thinking of going with and how much data do you need? With some of the cashback deals available on contracts, they can work out cheaper overall compared to buying a SIM-free smartphone and spending £10-£15 p/m.

Well thats been the source of some debate in another thread. Currently with Voda but I'm wandering around with a second phone with a 3 SIM in it as I'm interested in their higher download limits, I'd like alot or unlimited as I spend alot of time outdoors away from wifi.

 

I can always root it and take the Samsung apps off, I'm going to try Cyanogenmod on my GS3 as well to see what its like.

Yeh I've been taking a good look at the Nexus 5 as I like the vanilla look and updates. I'm just been swayed towards the GS5 due to the ultra low power mode, apparently it will switch to grey scale screen and no advanced features and you can get days of power from it. That could be very handy for me

That will be the next killer app. Decent battery life. Currently you need to go with something like this.

Btw, Clove are currently selling the 32GB Nexus 5 for £280 which is £59 cheaper than Google!

 

With the money saved you could get a portable USB battery?

I do actually have a portable battery pack, just a pain to carry in my pocket etc. I also like the SD card port on the GS5.

 

That is a very tempting price though
