zag Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Has anyone got any recommendations for a portable sound system that could be wheeled/carried around. It would need to have a 3.5" input and inbuilt speakers. Also a microphone would be useful. I've been googling for a while and cant find a good all-in-one system yet.

This should be just the thing: Trojan iPA800 Portable PA System at Studiospares We have one, and have just ordered two more as we find it so useful. Speaker, mic, stereo input, mic input, XLR input, and a mic cable output, so you can daisy-chain multiple units together if you need to cover a larger area. Complete with internal battery so they don't even have to be plugged in. You can put them up on a standard speaker stand, too. Several schools supplies places are now selling them under various names and brands, we got the most recent two from Wistrac, I think TTS might be selling them too. 1

Exactly what I've been looking for. I might order a couple as they look really good.
rich_tech Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 We have the "Older" version of this when we require a PA being setup for something on our site, which is rare these days unless its a big thing. Peavey :: PVi Portable
laserblazer Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 If we have presentations and courses in the hall, we use the portable PA with one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/UHF-116HL-Single-Channel-Wireless-Microphone-microphone/dp/B00FOI81Y0/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1399896538&sr=8-7&keywords=wireless+microphone+uhf We put the PA at the opposite end of the hall and turn it up just loud enough to reinforce the sound.
