We've been using Dolphin SaySo for a few years but it's proved to be unreliable in terms of deploying and activating so we're looking for alternatives.

Basically just something that will read out loud the documents on the screen and enable students to control it fairly intuitively. One of Dolphins features is that all you need to do is hover over the text and it will read out the entire sentence.

Any suggestions?

We've just bought a site license for Texthelp's Read & Write Gold - we have it installed on a couple of machines so far, we're just adding it to the general deployment ready to go on all the machines. Those that use it here seem to like it, hence us buying the site license, although we don't have that much experience of it yet.

I know this is an old post but I'm trying to install this program across our network and am having problems and Texthelp have said they can't help any further. How did you manage to install (if you ever did) across a network. The program works fine if installed on one machine and will talk across the network to the share we have for it but if I put it as a shortcut in the pupils start menu (which we do for all the programs the students need) then it asks for a licence. Did you have the same issues?

We just have the application installed locally for a couple of users at the moment, we haven't got around to setting up a network install yet. Sounds like it might take more effort than I was hoping, too.
