Reterive documents and shortcuts from desktop

Hi Guys.

 

I need your help or advice..

 

Well over the easter holiday i have been doing delprof on all PCs in IT Suite inc Teacher machine..

When teacher came back , she found out that the shortcuts of IE and documents has been deleted..and she want them back... how do i get the documents and all the favorites shortcuts from IE restored.

Please help guys..

You say shortcuts to. The favourites and documents are normally stored under C:\Users\Username assuming they are not redirected.

If you are not redirecting they would have been deleted when you ran delprof. I get all teachers to use Chrome as the favourites are stored on-line and follow the user from work to home etc.

You will have to run recovery software on the machine she used. Recuva is one that I have used before, with varying levels of success.

 

I know it isn't helpful now, but when I am clearing local user profiles, I create a folder in C:\Users called OLD PROFILES then move all except mine and Public into that. Then run regedit and go to Local Machine > Software > Microsoft > Windows NT > Current Version > Profile List. The top 3 or 4 reg keys are short. Do not delete these. The longer ones, if you click on them, will have a username on the right hand side. Delete all except for the current logged on user.

I understand the Favorites and documents are normally stored in c:\users\username.. but when i did delprof.. its all gone.. is there any where i can retrieve the favorites from IE9

so you think "GetDataBack for NTFS" software will get all the favorites in IE from the hard drive?
