SYNACK Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Anyone found a nice easy way to do this? I had it going, MDM and all then I changed something that hashed the whole lot and now I can't get profile manager to enable at all despite the wizard completing 'successfully' Any hints?
Quackers Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Are you wanting to wipe the Mac and start from scratch?
SYNACK Posted May 2, 2014 Author Posted May 2, 2014 Are you wanting to wipe the Mac and start from scratch? Just the sever component, I tried wiping t Profile manger DB an that failed spectacularly. Now you can run the activation wizard s much as you want and it completes successfully but does not actually enable device management.
Quackers Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 If it was me i would just wipe the whole thing and do a fresh if its playing games since re-installing the OS is such a quick job on OS X. Then just redownload the server.app from the app store.
Arthur Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 (edited) Anyone found a nice easy way to do this? Have you already dragged Server.app to the Trash? Uninstall the Server app from your Mac by dragging it to the Trash, your Mac is reset to a client user system. However, File Sharing and Open Directory services, and their data, remain on your Mac, but only as local client services. You manage file sharing data in Sharing preferences and Open Directory data in Users & Groups preferences in System Preferences. (Source) According to this article on Krypted.com, you can simply run the following Terminal command to reset Server.app and start from scratch. ... close Server app and run the following command: sudo rm /var/db/.ServerSetupDone Once removed, open the Server app again and then let the Server app run as though it’s new. Cruft, begone! Server data is stored in /Library/Server apparently, so you could trash this too (although it probably isn't necessary once the command above has been run).
