If so i need you to do something for me, can you run "sh ip route" on your switch and let me know how long it takes to give you the full list?

 

I've got 24 lines in my ip routes, and they seem to appear two at a time causing the list to appear quite slowly, whereas I'm sure in the past the whole list would appear instantly. I can't be sure though, trying to source a performance problem on the network that i can't find, not sure if it's the new firmware version i've put on the switch.

 

Also just doing "sh ?" then ctrl+c to get out of it takes aggges for the typing section to reappear.

 

Could someone try those two for me and tell me how quickly they go? and what firmware version you're running?

2) maybe 2, maybe 3 seconds? Something like that.

Thanks Roberto, that confirms my suspicions, something isn't playing right. I've got the same boot rom version, tried 3 different firmwares, currently on a long support maintenance version but none of them fixed. I wonder if something changed in the config when i upgraded the firmware in the easter hols that's causing it.

could be. I have seen these boxes slow down at times when they're processing something (unpacking a firmware update will do this for sure) but not like that on an ongoing basis.

It would appear firmware version K.15.13.0005 causes us all sorts of headaches on trunked ports. K.15.10.0022 working wonderfully.

 

Also never knew about the command "task-monitor cpu" until today, that's handy!
