quick question DSADD

I'm on chapter 5 now of the 70-290 and im doing an exercise using the dsadd command.

 

any idea what the '?' means? example below

 

dsadd computer ?cn=desktop03,ou=server,dc=contoso,dc=com?

 

it dosent explain why you need to use the '?' and im not just gona say ok blah blah blah thats how it has to be done. Just need to understand why its used.

Hello there. I'm working through the bbok at the moment too. I'm guessing that it's a typing error, probably caused by having the keyboard settings set to US, and being used to typing on a UK keyboard, or vice-versa. The line should read:

 

DSADD COMPUTER "cn=desktop03,ou=server,dc=contoso,dc=com"

A typo wouldnt suprise me - if you're using the microsoft official course book there are loads of cases where the answers in the assesment bits are just plain wrong

 

I'm guessing they have Stevie Wonder proof reading these things
