A full-time IT Network Manager is required to work within the Bursarial department and with the

ICT

Coordinator (teacher). The job involves responsibility for the maintenance, development and management of the IT network (200 workstations) and assistance with the school’s website. A technical background in IT, an appropriate professional qualification and excellent customer service skills are required. The post is full-time throughout the year and is

available for an immediate start

. Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience (expected range £28k-32k pa).

This is my current job at the school, and is becoming vacant as of half term as I am moving on to another institution who needed me ASAP, hence the short recruitment timeframe. We are well aware this doesn’t leave us a huge amount of time, but don’t be put off if you’re currently on a notice period that would go beyond half term as we have contingency plans in the works for this and would discuss arrangements for handover with individual candidates. We intend to shortlist immediately after the closing date and interview promptly.

 

The successful candidate will be taking over a well-resourced network of about 160 Windows 8.1 workstations and 16 virtualised servers across 3 physical hosts (mix of Server 2008 R2 through Server 2012 R2). The workstations are mostly desktops, with one class set of 20 laptops and a handful of staff laptops. We also have a class set of 20 iPads for use in Reception - Year 4.

Where are you moving to mate?

 

For anyone looking to apply, this is a nice school with a good solid network setup.

I'm emigrating to the US, new job is as IT Manager at a private school on the east coast - they haven't officially announced yet so don't want to step on any toes by naming publicly.
