Nugget Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Hi There, Does anyone know of any free/ cheap software that is good at filtering certain websites that I put on a blacklist. By the way this is for home use. Jordan
fiza Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 The router from your ISP should be able to do that for you.
Nugget Posted April 15, 2014 Author Posted April 15, 2014 Really? The router that we have is a orange brightbox one.
fiza Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 http://ee.co.uk/help/phones-and-device/home-broadband/bright-box-wireless-router/bright-box-advanced-user-guides/bright-box-router-firewall-features#4 URL blocking on the Bright Box router allows you to restrict certain websites from being accessed by either all computers, or specific computers or devices on your home network.
fairm010 Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Use this on my little brothers laptop. http://Http://k9webprotection.com/ Brilliant software!

woody Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 I too can vouch for the K9 web protection. Also used FreeDNS a while back but can't remember if you can have your own blacklist as well.
elsiegee40 Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 +1 for K9. There are versions for android and iOS too!
Gatt Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 I use Sophos UTM with a free Home Licence - really good for filtering and POP3 spam filtering
