Hi All,

I brought an iPhone 5S last Saturday, so 5 days later, it's developed the dreaded lock button 'rattle'... You just do a quick Google search and you'll find pages and pages of people with the same issue.

Apple are accepting it's an issue and are replacing them without question. Although I brought it from a EE store, but they should give me a straight swap as Apple chat support agreed it's an issue worthy of a replacement.

The problem with this issue is when recording the 'rattle' is picked up by the microphone as they are situated so close within the phone. But i don't do much recording.

Has anyone on here got a 5S with the issue? Have you had replacements?

Would you go and get a replacement? Risk getting another and the same 'rattle' reappears? It doesn't bother me that much, it's just the purpose of it. £500+ handset and it's got a rattle...

What would you guys do?

You've spent more than enough money on a device, you should expect it to be perfect. Return it immediately. You would only be having second thoughts if it was a ropey Chinese knockoff or a bargain basement Android you spent £20 on. I'd personally return a 5S if I got home and found out it wouldn't give me sexual favours for the ludicrous amount they ask for it.

Haha Made me giggle.

Yes return it, I know it's not nice though! At the moment I have my phone sent off to Samsung as I was having issues after the latest 4.4.2 android update. It's a brand new phone as well so was gutted but trust me it is worth it in the end!

Return it! For $deity's sake man if you're going to spend that kind of money on a gadget then you take full advantage of the after sales care!

I wonder how Siri responds to such requests? :p

Looks like I'm catching a train to Birmingham this weekend... Hopefully get a solid one this time!! :p It's a shame because this rattle is the only thing wrong... Just hope I don't get up there, get replacement, come home to find the rattle reappears!

Open the replacement in the shop and make sure all is ok before you walk out!

Edit: I'm hoping you're not travelling really far to Birmingham, otherwise make them pick it up from your house why should you pay for travelling costs if it's their fault the device is faulty don't be a mug and use their services.

Also this is slightly off topic but why buy a 5S when the 6 is coming out in a few months?

I'm not travelling mega far, 40min train journey... and because they'll release the iPhone 6 with a £600+ price tag probably!!

And it'll have 1 new feature and 0.2mm wider screen.
