Ardalan Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Hi All, I have just started a new position as a senior ICT Technician, Been working in IT for 2 year but would like to increase my knowledge in servers and AD's. What courses would you guys recommend as a starter my knowledge is basic so dont want to jump in to the deep end. Many Thanks A
Ardalan Posted March 27, 2014 Author Posted March 27, 2014 none everytime i want to do something people tell me its not really needed and etc so it puts me off but i think i do need it along with some practical training. thinking of MCSA, CCNA or any other basic for starters.
Jasbo Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Can you get any funding from your employer then? There's a good info graphic showing all the various ms routes (you mention AD), I would start looking at an entry level exam on a cert path that fits your wants and ask your employer if they would pay for exam, books, loan/give you some old spare practice kit if needed, cover travel cost to testing centre and give you a bit of encouragement and then get on with it :0 My colleagues used to say it's not worth it, now I'm their certified boss and they are all elbow deep in phone calls and emails on the help desk next door...
Ardalan Posted March 27, 2014 Author Posted March 27, 2014 Cheers body i will ask them soon i have just started in this high school so just finding my feet but regardless of their help i will defo do something just doing the research now on what course i should do first
