robjduk Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Very quick question to those in the know... When PXE booting to SCCM (2012R2), will it fail if there is no task sequence advertised to it's group? I am getting the pxeabort.com thing but clear advertisements and all.... I was so disheartened at the end of Friday I was looking for non-IT jobs but thinking about it, the above makes sense and would love someone to tell me this is why it wasn't working, meaning I get a good nights sleep!.
FN-GM Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 (edited) When PXE booting to SCCM (2012R2), will it fail if there is no task sequence advertised to it's group? Yes, unless you deploy the TS to unknown computers. That will allow you to PXE boot machines not in SCCM. However if you have a machine that is in SCCM but isn't in a collection with a TS deployed to it, won't PXE boot because it isn't unknown. To fix it deploy the TS to a collection the machine is a member of. Edited March 23, 2014 by FN-GM 1
