Student Logins + scamming nutrition services for free lunches

Not quite sure where to post this...if this is the wrong place then let me know and I'll move the thread.

 

Here's the deal, our students log in with their ID #'s. Their Office 365 username is their ID #@ourdomain.com...apparently they are using the address book to look up other students ID #'s and and key in that students ID number to get a free lunch (assuming that student has money in their account). Nutrition services uses a keypad where they type in their ID number to get their lunch.

 

Have you come across this issue? If so, what have you done? It seems like getting a free lunch would be the oldest trick in the book, so someone has to have come up with a clever solution.

This isn't a technical issue. It's a behaviour issue.

 

Kick it to pastoral. They need to find out why these pupils think this is acceptable behaviour.

It needs a bit more than just a user id to enable the collection of lunch so there is a technological flaw there as well as a pastoral issue.

Fingerprints are the way forward else just give each student a new Id not related to email account so they can't look the Id's up.
