Adobe Flash, it's all gone wrong

I'm not sure what has happened, but none of my machines think flash installed, even though it is, and running the msi file brings up an error looking for the same file as I'm running and i can't get that error to go away.

 

I can get flash working if i run the exe and install through the GUI but the MSI won't work, and this appears to be entirely school wide....so i can only presume something went wrong in deployment. I've tried the flash uninstaller program adobe have, that didn't work eiher. I've tried going through folders and registry and removing all references to flash from a test machine, but that still doesn't allow me to uninstall.

 

Anyone got any suggestions here?

Not exactly a fix, but more a question If it's working through exe, have you just tried doing a silent install of the exe via loginscript etc? Would seem an easier option if it works.

Never used the exe for a silent install before, got any details on that?

 

I think i've determined that it's looking for an older msi file to reference against for the uninstall of the old version, but in all my hunting through the registry i cannot for the life of me find what version it's referencing. I've tried the 11.7, 11.9 and older 12.0 versions but it could be any from 11.7-current

 

EDIT: Ignore that last bit, found it, can't believe i was that dopey that i missed it lol. Problem is it's telling me it's looking for install_flash_player_11_active_x.msi but the version in the registry is sayin 12.0.0.44

 

Ok i think i need version 11.8.800.94! Can't find a download link anywhere, anyone got that msi anywhere? EDIT2: never mind, found this http://www.msiwisdom.com/articles/adobe

Funny enough I think that's what we're on, will take a look quickly

For exe its' just -install on the end for silent, unless it's changed recently

Yeah, silent install for the exe is -install. Also add -au 2 to disable auto-updating.
